Where to Start
Whether its during your initial wave of excitement at getting engaged or four months before the big day and things still aren’t finalised, Big Day Blooms & Cakes are here to help.
Give Sophie a call or an email as soon as you are ready and arrange a consultation. These are done at Sophie’s base in Barnstone and take about 30-45 minutes for the cake element and a further 30-1 hour for the flower element. These are free from obligation and help give you a good feel for how Big Day Blooms & Cakes works and whether you want to proceed.
No matter what point in your planning you are at you are welcome along:
If you are stuck and can’t find your staring point, do not worry. Sophie of Big Day Blooms & Cakes offers a mood board experience to help guide you. Pay £30 for a 1-hour consultation, talk through your big day with someone who has experience in styling and designing events and take the time to establish what could work for you. Thereafter, you will be posted a lovely looking A2 mood board that you can work from to plan your big day around including colour swatches, example invite ideas, touches to make your day unique, table centre ideas, flower inspiration, cake styles, bridesmaid themes and so on! This does not obligate you to use Big Day Blooms & Cakes to provide your flowers and cakes in any way but the price of the consultation will be fully refunded if you do subsequently choose to make an order. This will make a lovely keepsake for your wedding memory box too.
In contrast, if you are full of ideas and need little guidance Sophie will be able to take those thoughts and bring them to life working towards making a magnificent display on your wedding day.
After the consultations have taken place a quote will be forwarded to you within a week via email. Where required, this will include various design ideas and some different budget options to help you get an idea of what you are happy to go on and order.
At this stage, a further quick consultation can be arranged if you still want to talk through the ideas further.
When you are happy with the design and quote, a formal invoice will be generated and sent to you via email. A deposit will be requested and when this is paid it will secure the day in the Big Day Blooms & Cakes diary exclusively for you; Sophie will only work on one wedding a day to give you the attention to detail your special day deserves. Big Day Blooms & Cakes will send out a contract via post for you to keep, this gives you peace of mind that everything is in hand and your deposit is safe!
About 6 weeks before the big day the balance of the invoice will be due, Big Day Blooms and Cakes will give you a quick email reminder as we know things get hectic in the run up to the wedding.
Two to four weeks before the wedding Big Day Blooms & Cakes will confer with your venue to ensure entry and set up times are agreed and everything is in place to make the day run smoothly, taking the stress away and allowing you to sit back and enjoy the moment. Sophie will also be on hand for any last-minute calls and checks you want to make, anything to ensure you reach the big ‘I Do’ with a smile on your face.
Just before the wedding day Big Day Blooms & Cakes will send you confirmation of the planned timings for the wedding so you and your fiancé know when to expect your bouquets and buttonholes and when the cake will be at the venue.
On the big day Sophie will deliver to all the relevant addresses in good time, advice on how to keep your flowers fresh and how to position your corsages, boutonnieres and hair accessories. If you have opted for Big Day Blooms & Cakes to style your room as well as providing flowers and a cake, then this will be done earlier enough in the day to allow ample time for your photographer to pop in and get any pictures of the finished display before all your guests arrive. Big Day Blooms & Cakes will leave an inventory of hired goods at the venue so there is a quick reference list to leave to make it easier for those responsible for packing away after you drive off into the sunset.
